The Journey of Our Shirts

Updated: Nov 11

The garment you hold began its journey thousands of years ago — a story that threads through continents, climates, and craftsmanship

At All Nice Things, our motto is “curated with care,” and it all begins with the fabric.

Linen, one of the world’s oldest textiles, has been cherished for centuries — from the refined mills of Europe to the bustling looms of Calcutta and the skilled tailoring units of Kerala.

It all starts with flax, a humble, earth-loving plant grown with little more than sun, rain, and rich soil. Linen is not only strong and breathable, but also one of the most earth friendly fibers. Across Europe — in Ireland, Belgium, and France, generations perfected the art of spinning flax into yarns of incredible quality and durability.

Our linen fabric meets the European Flax Standard, ensuring it is sustainably grown, responsibly processed, and fully traceable, a mark of authenticity and environmental care.

In India cotton has long flourished, from Gujarat’s golden plains to the lush fields of the Deccan, producing fibers known for their softness and versatility. When blended with linen, it creates the perfect union: linen-rich cotton, offering linen’s airy strength and cotton’s familiar softness.

In Calcutta India’s textile gateway and renowned center of skilled Linen manpower yarns spun in Europe are transformed into beautiful fabrics. For our pure linen shirts, we use fine 60 lea linen — crisp, lightweight, and perfectly breathable for Indian weather.

Each shirt then travels south to Kerala, where skilled hands cut and tailor every piece with care, precision, and quiet mastery.

From plant to stitch, our shirts carry the heritage of linen, the soul of cotton, and the story of thoughtful design
